- Business listing data: Business name, address, phone numbers, categories, photos, operating hours, and descriptions submitted when listing a business
- Reviews and content: Text, photos, and ratings you post on our platform
- Communication data: Messages sent via our contact form or email support
- Payment data: Payment is processed by our PCI-DSS compliant payment partners (Razorpay/PayU). We do not store card or UPI details — only a transaction reference ID and plan information

- Device data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, screen resolution
- Location data: If you grant permission, we collect approximate GPS location to show nearby businesses. You may deny this permission at any time in your device settings

- Operating and improving our search directory and Services
- Creating and managing your user or business account
- Processing payments for Premium plans and issuing GST invoices

- Sending marketing communications — only if you have opted in. You may unsubscribe at any time
- Displaying personalised search results based on your location and search history
- Detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, and spam
- Complying with our legal obligations under Indian law

Sharing Your Data
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: Cloud hosting (AWS India), payment processing (Razorpay), email delivery (SendGrid), analytics (our own infrastructure). All providers are bound by data processing agreements
- Business listings: Information you submit for a business listing is displayed publicly on FindNearby.in and in our API. This is the core purpose of the service
- Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by a court order, law enforcement request, or applicable Indian law, including the DPDP Act 2023
- Business transfers: If FindNearby Internet Pvt. Ltd. is acquired or merges, your data may be transferred. We will notify you before this occurs

Your Rights Under the DPDP Act 2023

Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures including SSL/TLS encryption for data in transit, encrypted password storage (bcrypt), access controls and audit logs, regular security audits, and data breach response procedures. Despite these measures, no system is completely secure. In the event of a data breach affecting your rights, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as required to provide Services. Account data is deleted within 30 days of account deletion. Business listing data is retained for 6 months post-deletion to allow for appeals. Financial records are retained for 7 years as required by Indian tax law. Anonymised analytics data may be retained indefinitely.
Children's Privacy
Our Services are not directed to children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, please contact us immediately at dpo@findnearby.in.
